It's the 1890s, and London is entering a period of transition. Our characters don't know it yet, but the Victorian period is coming to an end. Decades of industrial growth brought riches to a small group of Londoners, but left many others destitute and hungry, riddled in poverty and living in a highly polluted city. Now, urban regeneration and renewal is changing London's landscape. Big developers are coming in and building all over the city, contorting it into a more modern version of itself.
However, these changes threaten to destroy the strong communities that local Londoners have created and depend on. Our story follows Bertie, a postman and our protagonist, as he begins his daily round. Bertie, with his prominent role in the community and a job that keeps him in tune with the changes in his vicinity, is acutely aware of the regeneration happening around him.
In part 1 of this story, you, our players, have been sent by the Post Office to help Postman Bertie. Your role is to use all your creativity and imagination to insert yourself into 1890s London and gain Bertie's trust. Once you have it, you must help Bertie to deliver his post, and be ready to deal with any other challenges that appear along the way. Are you up to the task?
